KA 4.1 Diagnose, service, and repair mobile hydraulic systems.

4.1.1 Perform hydraulic system performance test.
4.1.2 Inspect, remove, repair, and install/replace hoses, lines, fittings, and couplings.
4.1.3 Perform OEM-required maintenance on hydraulic system.
4.1.4 Test, remove, repair, and install/replace hydraulic cylinder.
4.1.5 Test, remove, repair, and install/replace hydraulic pump.
4.1.6 Test, remove, repair, and install/replace hydraulic motor.
4.1.7 Test, remove, repair, and install/replace pressure, flow, and directional control     valves.
4.1.8 Remove, repair, and replace oil cooler.
4.1.9 Check hydraulic system temperature and determine needed repairs.
4.1.10 Flush and clean hydraulic system
4.1.11 Charge hydraulic system accumulator.
4.1.12 Test, remove, and/or replace electrical control wiring, switches, solenoids, and connectors.
4.1.13 Post service vehicle performance indicates that components performing at or above OEM specifications.
Knowledge and understanding of mobile hydraulic system

Knowledge of various types of hydraulic systems found on mobile equipment

Knowledge of components and parts used in mobile hydraulic systems and their purpose (hydraulic spool valves, flow divider valves, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, sequencing valves, unloading valves, and hydraulic controls)

Knowledge of PC usage and OEM diagnostic software

Knowledge of and ability to interpret hydraulic symbols, schematics, and diagrams.

Knowledge and usage of shop manuals and other appropriate documentation

Using the following tools, resources, and equipment:

Personal/laptop computer

OEM diagnostic software

Common mechanic's hand tools

Hydraulic test gauge and fittings

Appropriate shop service manuals and other documentation

4.2.5 Check, adjust, remove, repair, and install/replace hydrostatic drive control.
