This toolkit provides industry groups and their job analysis experts with basic instructions and accompanying documents and resources to: 1) develop skill standards; and 2) apply to the Texas Skill Standards Board (TSSB) for recognition of the standards. The TSSB recommends that the Guidelines for the Development, Recognition and Usage of Skill Standards (Guidelines) be read thoroughly before proceeding to use the other tools listed below. Introduction to Skill Standards Developing Skill Standards – A User’s Guide - Technical document and authoritative source to develop and submit skill standards according to TSSB recognition criteria.Skill Scales Companion Guide - Instructions on how to rate the complexity level of the academic and employability knowledge and skills (AEKS) identified in the skill standards.
